Audrey Lesondak is an Education Consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI), where she managed assessments for ELs in the Office of Student Assessment, and now coordinates Bilingual/ESL – Title III initiatives. Prior to her work at DPI, Ms. Lesondak worked with diverse populations in Chicago, advocating in the areas of housing, homelessness, and cultural understanding, and then served for a decade as a teacher of English learners in Wisconsin.  Audrey has served as presenter, trainer and facilitator in local and national circles on topics related to travel, grant writing, English learner assessments and accommodations, housing policy and English language development. Ms. Lesondak received her BA with a concentration in German and her MA in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as her post-Baccalaureate teaching licensure from Concordia University. She was a Fulbright-Hays travel abroad fellow, and has served as board president for the Wisconsin Teachers of Speakers of Other Languages (WITESOL).
